Youth Program
The Youth Program at the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church is aimed at developing a deeper faith and strong friendships among the young people of the parish. Our young people are encouraged to take part in various philanthropic activities, such as helping at Lazarus House in Lawrence MA, collecting canned goods and warm clothes, providing Christmas gifts for needy children, etc. Our meetings are a combination of activities and serious discussion.
Youth groups:
Junior Orthodox Youth (J.O.Y.)
The JOY group, under the auspices of Maria Connor and Presbytera Anna, enjoys to get together for activities and projects, as well as for outings and fun events.
The JOY will be having a regular meeting during the "Parish Family" Night Out on the 3rd Sunday of the months of September, November, January, March and May from 5-7 pm. They will be getting together during the other months for scheduled fun activities.
Junior Greek Orthodox Youth (Jr. GOYA)
All young people of the parish from 6th to 8th grades are invited to join the Jr. GOYA. Our seminarian, Michael Marcantoni, is heading the group.
The Jr. GOYA meets regularly with the "Parish Family" Night Out on the 3rd Sunday of the months of September, November, January, March, and May from 5-7 pm for planning, activities and discussion. They will be enjoying various fun activities during the other months.
Senior Greek Orthodox Youth (Sr. GOYA)
All of our young people from 9th to 12th grade are invited to participate in the Sr. GOYA, under the leadership of Don and Jill Argyrople.
The Sr. GOYA meets regularly for planning, activities and discussion during the "Parish Family" Night Out on the 3rd Sunday of the months of September, November, January, March, and May from 5-7 pm. They will be getting together during the other months for fun activities.
The Sr. GOYA has a couple of special projects. Every Christmas they adopt a family and go shopping for Christmas presents. In February and March they spend a couple Sunday afternoons on the soup truck for Lazarus House in Lawrence MA. They also take part in the annual "Hike for Hope" to help support the good work done by Lazarus House. Check out some pictures!
Young Adult League (YAL)
Our young adults, from 18 to 35, are invited to be part of the YAL. Ryan and Jen Jansen coordinate the meetings.
The YAL will be meeting in conjunction with "Parish Family" Night Out on the 3rd Sunday of the months of September, November, January, March, and May from 5-7 pm, for planning, activities and discussions. During the other months, they will be meeting for some fun activities and get-togethers.
Altar Servers
The young men of our parish between the ages of 7 and 18 are welcome to become part of our Altar Servers Team. These young men have the privilege of joining with the angels around the Altar of God to assist the priest in the celebration of the Divine Liturgy.
